This June, we’re creating for dementia.

Pick a fun, creative challenge, register your personal profile and raise funds to help us create a dementia-friendly New Zealand.

Whether you're a creative professional, a hobbyist, or a novice wanting to try your hand at a new skill, Create for Dementia is your chance to get creative for a good cause regardless of your skills and experience. Your support will help make a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of Kiwi families living with dementia mate wareware. It’s easy, fun and free to participate, so join creators across the country and start fundraising today.

Here’s how it works:

1. Set yourself a creative challenge

Paint a beautiful landscape, knit a cosy sweater, compose a catchy tune - anything you want! Set yourself a creative challenge for the month of June. You can participate solo or as a team. The wackier and more original, the better!

2. Create your fundraising page

Register with us, build your fundraising page and set a fundraising target. Share your inspiration for getting involved and encourage your friends and family to participate too!

3. Create, share, fundraise!

Throughout the month of June, let your creativity shine and show the world what you're made of. Promote your progress and get donations by sharing updates directly to your fundraising page as well as on your socials.

There are no rules or restrictions when it comes to creativity. So let your imagination run wild! As a month-long challenge, you could aim to create something new every day, every week, or do one big creation over the entire month. Whatever works for you.

We’re raising $70,000 to help the 70,000 kiwis living with dementia mate wareware.

Most of us know or have known someone with dementia. Around 70,000 Kiwis are living with dementia mate wareware today and that's expected to almost triple by 2050. 

All funds raised through Create for Dementia will go directly to Alzheimers New Zealand to provide vital services and support for people living with dementia mate wareware, including:

  • Critical research efforts in the prevention of dementia mate wareware

  • Education programmes on caring for the diagnosed

  • Emotional support for families via local Alzheimers groups

  • Raise awareness and reduce the stigma of dementia mate wareware

  • Advocate with government for more help and support
